Copper pitcher with art nouveau decoration
Auld Curiosities is delighted to offer, for your consideration, a copper jug by the renowned Joseph Sankey & Sons, Bilston, England. The jug is decorated with 2 panels of art nouveau period decoration, showing nice organic and somewhat sinuous flow in the design. The jug has been left with the patina of age, rather than polished, but it certainly could be easily polished if that finish was preferred by the new owner. This is the smaller of two jugs that we have to offer with this pattern and it is stamped with 1 ½ on the base, presumably indicating a volume of 1 ½ pints (so would hold 900mls). Condition is really very good for age with just two minor dents toward the bottom of one side (see photographs). Postage will be determined at point of sale and is a cost to the buyer. We do this to ensure that our charges are accurate and fair.
If for any reason you find an item does not match the description (written or photographic) please contact Auld Curiosities by email within 7 days of the item arriving, to arrange return and refund.
Packaging and postage.
With every item we sell, it is our intention to take every possible care to have it delivered to you in the same condition as when it left our premises. For this reason, packaging is tailored to each item and provides the maximum protection that we consider the item requires. Any item that arrives in a damaged condition should be referred to your postal service in the first instance for assessment of their handling of the package. If satisfaction is still lacking then we will look to see whether our efforts have been inadequate for fair handling of an item and if it is found to be so we will refund the cost of the item. Postage has now become a major cost in ecommerce so we try to strike a balance that will not unduly add excessive cost to your purchase.
