"Imperial" style cylindrical vase by Phoenix Manufacturing Coy
Tonight, Auld Curiosities is glad to have the opportunity to offer a decorative vase by the Australian Phoenix Manufacturing Company of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. This company existed between 1916 and 1960's and it would seem that this “Imperial” style shape would date to the first year or two of the company operation. This Imperial” electroplated nickel silver metal vase is striking, not only because of the height but also because of the striking and clean lines. The double handle adds a trophy feel to the design and the otherwise severe and utilitarian lines are only relieved by the band of decoration on the vase rim and the sweeping curve of the generous base as it rises to support the vase body. The vase stands 15 ¼” (387mm) tall to the top of the handles and stands on a base with a diameter of 5 9/16” (141mm).
Postage will be determined at point of sale and is a cost to the buyer. We determine costs to each item as opposed to having regional postage charges to ensure that our charges are accurate and fair. It now seems that there is no case of Covid 19 in the Otago community where the city of Dunedin sits, despite a recent report. This means we continue our one year plus history of being free from active cases. Needless to say, Auld Curiosities will continue with the stringent measures that have been in place for some time. There is no face to face contact with potential customers and very limited contact when buying items, going to lengths to minimise the risk of transmission. Items are thoroughly prepared for sale including the use of antiviral wash where this will not damages the item. Paper and delicate items are cleaned dry and kept separate until sold. Your safety and satisfaction is our only concern. Our local situation will be updated as more information comes to hand.
Packaging and Postage
With every item we sell, it is our intention to take every possible care to have it delivered to you in the same condition as when it left our premises. For this reason, packaging is tailored to each item and provides the maximum protection that we consider the item requires. Any item that arrives in a damaged condition should be referred to your postal service in the first instance for assessment of their handling of the package. If satisfaction is still lacking then we will look to see whether our efforts have been inadequate for fair handling of an item and if it is found to be so we will refund the cost of the item. Postage has now become a major cost in ecommerce so we try to strike a balance that will not unduly add excessive cost to your purchase.
