"Venus" by Gino Ruggeri

SKU: 3980251

Auld Curiosities is pleased to offer a Gino Ruggeri statuette, commonly known just as “Venus”, for your consideration. Gino Ruggeri is one of the well-known Italian sculptors, who was born in Volterra – the home of Italian alabaster. He worked for years with Tito Bianchi and is credited with developing a resin and alabaster mix which gave greater stability and waterproofing to the material. It is thought that Ruggeri sculpted between the 1930’s and into the 1980’s, when he retired the Santini family obtained the rights of exclusive reproduction of all of Ruggeri’s works.

This piece, the “Venus” is priced as if a later reproduction rather than an original carving. For all that we have tried to show that the figurine is well defined and retains good artistic merit. It stands on what appears to be a piece of Onyx marble and stands 8* (203mm) tall on a base 2 1/16” (52mm) square.

Postage will be determined at point of sale and is a cost to the buyer. We determine costs to each item as opposed to having regional postage charges to ensure that our charges are accurate and fair. PLEASE DO NOT BUY AN ITEM WITHOUT ESTABLISHING THE POSTAGE CHARGE TO BE ADDED TO THE PURCHASE PRICE
