Webb Corbett "Gothic" pattern decanter and glasses
Auld Curiosities is delighted to offer this Webb Corbett decanter for fortified wine and pair of matching glasses, for your consideration. This is a beautiful set of cut crystal in the less common “Gothic pattern. The decanter stands 12” (305mm) with the original stopper in place, and the decanter base has a diameter of 3 ¼” (82mm). The glasses are 4 3/16” (106mm) tall and it on a base 1 15/16” (50mm) in diameter. The base of both decanter and glasses has a deep cut star pattern and the stem of the glasses have a ball type swell about halfway. The Gothic pattern cut into the body of the decanter and glasses consists of Gothic arches enclosing a fan shaped spread of seven leaf shapes. Between the arches there are horizontal cut ribs ascending from the bottom. Condition of this set of three is superlative – no chips or flakes scratches or discolouration. The acid etch mark suggests manufacture between the 1930's and '60's.
