Weston Master III light meter, model S141.3 and booklet
For the photography purist and/or collector, the Weston Master III was released in 1956 this light meter is accompanied by the original user’s manual as shown in a good number of the images here. Made in England (USA models were essentially the same but sold as model 737) the light meter relies on a selenium cell to ‘read’ the light and as shown there is a light baffle for managing bright light. The meter was designed to take direct or incident light readings, the latter with the use of an ‘invercone’ which is not present in this offering. Using the direct light method, as far as I can tell, the meter is only off by about 1/3 of a stop (below) that my Canon reads through the lens. Included in this offering is the Instruction book and also Booklet on Weston Ratings.
As photographs form an important part of the description, happy to provide additional images if requested. Please also take the time to check out our eclectic range of items being auctioned.
