Quality ‘Tiger’s Eye’ necklace with carved pendant & 52 hand knotted spheres
I have always regarded hand knotted necklaces as a sign of quality and pieces such as this necklace serve to confirm that belief. Tiger’s eye is a chenoyant member of the quartz family with the silky lustre being a result of intergrown fibres of amphibole. Ok science lesson over and believe me, my knowledge is all down to Google and AI. The spheres and pendant are beautifully polished and this accentuates the multi-surfaces of the pierced and carved pendant. The clasp, with its own floral decoration, appears to be a gold washed silver and holds well against what is a weighty necklace. The overall length of the necklace is 730mm with the clasp fastened, the 48mm in depth and a maximum of 34mm wide. The spheres average a diameter of 12mm.
