Kiyomizu ware tea ceremony pot

NZ$45.00

This little tea pot came to me with little information but by search the internet, the signature came up as Kiyomizu, a name associated with the Edo period in Japan (1603 – 1868). This era was a time of cultural isolation and the growth of urban development. The tea ceremony would have been a significant event during that period which was run as a shogunate. The teapot sits 75mm tall to the top of the knob on the lid and it sits on a base with a diameter of 45mm. Fine crazing with some age-related discolouration, but no damage from carless use.

As photographs form an important part of the description, happy to provide additional images if requested. Please also take the time to check out our eclectic range of items being offered.
