Vintage Stewart Warner “Hollywood” 16mm film Camera

NZ$85.00

This is the renowned Stewart Warner ‘Hollywood’ model 16mm cine camera dating to the early 1930’s. The camera shows minimal paint loss, mainly on the edges and the clockwork spring winds easily then it runs when the button in front is pushed. Film case area opens and closes easily and has some brilliant engine turned design in the interior compartment, in keeping with the art deco period. The camera offers a good degree of user control with aperture adjustments x5 and a choice of 4 film speeds – I have attempted to show these in the photographs, but quickly used up the twenty image limit. As you will have seen, there are chrome pins where a strap would fix to the camera, but this appears to have been lost at some point in the last 90 odd years. Also, due to the age, the canvas and leather trimmed carry case shows significant wear with the canvas coming away from the stitching in a number of places and the leather carry strap also having broken away on one end. Interestingly though, a previous owner has written his or her name on the inside of each canvas side (R.H. Stillwell, Global Tours. London Highgrove, then a postcode I can't quite decipher) . Clearly the protective case has done its job, as the camera looks great. This is a solid and quite deceptively heavy and the camera measures 229mm by 132mm (including lens) by 52mm.

As photographs form an important part of the description, happy to provide additional images if requested. Please also take the time to check out our eclectic range of items being offered
