Vintage Eumig C3 8mm Cine camera and case

Here is another offering for the cine camera collector – a Eumig 8mm cine camera in the original case – both in better condition that age would lead us to expect. This is a quality Austrian made, clockwork driven, cine camera and the camera appears to run well when wound and set in motion by the push button on the rear panel but I can’t speak to the speed accuracy as I don’t have any experience with this type of camera. The black body denotes this camera as having been made between 1937- 39 and the serial number on this particular camera (60946) puts its manufacture in the first 20% of all the Eumig C3 cine cameras made (300,000+). The taking lens is a Schneider-Kreuznach Xenoplan f1.9/13 and the aperture can be varied between said f1.9 to f16. Cosmetically the camera is strong, small areas of paint loss on the smooth metal edges, nice machine decoration on the inner film cabinet and all glass seems intact, though obviously in need of a good clean. The case is in equally good external condition but I have included an image to show the damage to the lining from an adhesive backed name plate has been removed.
