4 Antique, silver-plated, copper cherubs as the 4 muses of the arts

I fell in love with this framed representation of the muses – from top left; the sculptor, the artist, the musician and lastly, the writer in the bottom right. There were 9 muses all daughters Zeus and Mnemosyne, or inspirational goddesses, in Greek mythology and each had an area of oversight. Euterpe the muse of music, Clio was the muse for history and is portrayed with pen and parchment. As far as I can find, there was never specific muses for sculpture or painting – both of which were regarded as being under the auspicious of Apollo. I certainly find the mounting into the frame to be a bit sub-par and if I was keeping this set, I would be looking to redo it into an oblong horizontal frame so that there would be better flow. Plus, the muses could do with a clean, even though the copper is coming through, that is just part of their journey over the decades. We have not been able to find much information on these and without suggesting these are unique, we did do a pretty deep dive into reference material. Representing cherubs as the muses is different, in as much as something I haven’t seen before, but here it certainly works.
