Antique pair of apostle spoons in a well-crafted presentation box. This offer is a pair of quite delicately made apostle spoons (teaspoon size) made by Solomon Blackensee and Son Ltd, hallmarked for 1895, in a well-crafted presentation box by Parkin and Gotto of Oxford Street, London, England. This is a fitted case with both teaspoons having quite clearly shaped resting places withing the plush velvet finish. The date on the presentation box appears to pre-date the spoons by a year, however Auld Curiosities has been led to believe that reflects a delay in the present being sourced slightly after the event that was being celebrated (most likely a birth).The presentation box then being embossed with the date of the event rather than the date it was presented. At some point, the recipients name has been partially scratched away, presumably by family. I am going to honour that by not revealing or discussing the recipient’s name – the new owner will be able to decipher however, if desired.
