Art Deco era Stewart Dawson & Co., weighted lid, plated hot water jug

Very clean lines to this EPNS coated hot water jug with good clear backstamp on the base. The handle is covered in a quite intricately patterned raffia, offering the hand a good grip and some protection against the heat transfer from water to metal. The backstamp was used, in this form, between 1914 and 1926 only so there is a clear indicator that this jug was made within those 12 years, when the company was respected for their jewellery and fine metal production, retailing from Regent Street and Hatton Gardens in London. This is a pre-owned item so there is signs of use but nothing that really detracts from the over all impact of the piece.
