Antique cased 1907 sterling silver spoon

Antique, cased sterling silver spoon 1907 assay for Levesley Brothers Auld Curiosities is pleased to bring you this cased sterling silver spoon – nicely worked on both the bowl and terminal areas. This is one of the few spoons that we have offered for sale where the case is designed to hold the spoon so that the back of the spoon is toward the viewer when opening the case. The area holding the bowl of the spoon is raised in the central area to support the upturned bowl. The hallmarks indicate a Sheffield assay in 1907 and the maker as Thomas Levesley who was active within the Levesley Brothers firm between 1897 and 1920. Condition is good but I do note a slight ripple toward the terminal of the of the handle which doesn’t detract to my eye. The spoon is 5 ½” (140mm) and weighs 0.58 ounces or 16.5 grams.
