Paragon ‘Gainsborough’ trio backstamp for items made between 1929 and 1933

The era of tea-cups, saucers and side plates may well have been replaced by mugs, but interest remains in quality pieces from renowned makers. This offering is another excellent trio from Paragon China, decorated in the earliest form of the Gainsborough pattern, dating to 1929/1933. Later versions tend to fill the space much more and this scene is not included. The decoration is a transfer print with the colour elements being added by hand. The cup stands 70mm tall, the saucer has a diameter of 136mm and the side plate diameter is 143mm. Condition is excellent with no chips, scrapes or cracks found.
