IDL (USA) La Belle moistener for use with gum backed items such as stamps

Tonight is a pleasure for Auld Curiosities to bring you this La Belle Moistener from the American company of IDL Corporation of Carlstadt, NJ. Made of heavy, white porcelain, the moistener would have been sized for gummed labels rather than stamps (and may still have a use for those who decoupage, scrapbooking or similar). The roller is suspended on an unattached porcelain spindle, within the main body of the moistener. A mid-century item that is free of any damage and retains a simple plain aesthetic that suits the minimalist style of today. The moistener measures 4 3/16” (107mm) long by 2 ¼” (58mm) wide and 2 1/8” (54mm) high to the top of the roller.
