Edwardian silver plated shaving mug and brush

This offering from Auld Curiosities is perhaps of more interest to those who shave, and especially those who like to shave with older type implements. For those of you who can relate, we offer a silver plated shaving mug and brush, on three equidistant spaced legs with an almost cabriole shape, but very substantial feet, There is a generous handle opposing a holder for the brush (in this case very well used and worn down). The body is of course circular and the interior surface shows considerable previous use. The mug stands 4 7/8” (124mm) tall to the top of the rim and has a diameter of approximately 2 7/8” (74mm), again measured at the rim. The brush has a wooden handle and the bristle would appear to be boar bristle or something equally firm. There is an impressed maker’s mark on the side - difficult to read but appears to be X:Y - not listed on the standard maker’s marks websites.
