Royal Winton pin dish, anemone pattern, hand decorated and signed by the artist
Auld Curiosities is pleased to offer this small Royal Winton trinket / pin dish for your consideration. By physical size it may appear a small offering but there is a rather nice piece of history behind the attractive, hand painted and hand signed dish. Research reveals that Z Kas was a Polish refuge who, along with others, made England home following the invasion of Poland by German forces which led on to WW2. Of those refuges, a few (I believe about 6) were employed by the Royal Winton with Z Kas showing exceptional skill as a ceramic artist. As a result of that talent this artist was given the privilege of being allowed to sign each piece of work in their own hand (rather than a printed name on the reverse as part of the back-stamp. This offering has the ‘Anemone’ pattern expertly rendered within a date range of 1946 to mid 1950’s. Condition is excellent and the dish has a diameter of 4 13/16” (122mm) measured excluding the handles and the dish stands 1 3/8” high at the most elevated point of the rim.
As photographs form an important part of the description, happy to provide additional images if requested. Please also take the time to check out our eclectic range of items being offered.
