A Large Ridgeway's Drabware Bacchus & Pan Relief Moulded Pitcher

We are pleased to offer, for your consideration, a 1830’s Ridgeway moulded Drabware jug, featuring four repeated faces representing Bacchus on the body of the jug and the figure of Pan on the handle. The jug is most often identified by the names of the Greek Gods represented. The moulding of the jug body is nice and sharp and the jug belies its reported age of 190+ years with no great amount of wear and no chips seen. There are a couple of firing cracks on the lower rim of the inside surface of the jug but these do not impair the ability of holding liquid without leaks. The jug stands 8 5/16” (212mm) at the highest point (Pan’s head) and has a maximum body diameter is 4 7/8” (124mm). From lip of the spout to the rearmost point of the handle, the jug measures 6 1/2" (165mm).
