Marquise cut rubies and round diamonds on a 9 carat gold bar brooch

It is our pleasure to offer this extremely fine, small, mid to late 20th century, 9ct gold bar brooch with 3 marquise cut rubies and 2 small diamonds as accents on the hand-made, S shaped shoulders. Weight is approx. 2.15grms. This brooch was appraised in 1993 by the Gem Testing Laboratories Ltd of Wellington, New Zealand and is accompanied by their written report as follows –

“3 stone Ruby bar brooch, with 2 shoulder Diamonds in 9ct yellow gold and white gold. all hand made mount, yellow gold claw mounts for Rubies, small white gold S shaped shoulders, tapered 45mm yellow gold bar with chamfered ends, total weight approx.. 2.15grms.

3 Rubies, marquise shape, facetted mixed cutting, moderate to light purplish red colour. Colour scan No approx. 317/318, slight natural inclusions clarity approx. LI2. Approx. average size 2@ 4 x 2mm each, and 1 @ 5 x 3mm

2 shoulder diamonds. Small round single cut, est weight approx. 0.01ct each approx. total weight = 0.02ct.”
