Matched vintage perfume bottles – from (?) South East Asia

NZ$80.00

Matched pair of vintage perfume bottles for the dressing table. The pottery bases have a light green celadon-like glaze which has considerable crackle or crazing across each body. The tops of the perfumes seem to be pewter and heavily carved – the style of carving, the overall shape and glaze suggest South East Asia and likely Thailand, from perhaps the mid 1950’s to early1970’s. The pewter tops have Bakelite/early hard plastic screw fittings which screw onto a clear plastic fitting affixed to the pottery base. The bottles stand 5 ¼” (134mm) tall to the top of the pewter top and have a maximum diameter of approximately 3” (76mm). One of the pewter tops has a couple of small scores to the metal – see accompanying photograph.
