Beswick Mid-Century modern “UFO” vase ornamental vase / planter
Beswick is a name associated with the best in British design and the pottery is renowned for tableware, ornamentals and ceramic models. This particular piece was modelled by Albert Hallum and released in the 1960’s, described as having an “atomic influence” design and as a stylised UFO or flying saucer. However you choose to describe it, this is a statement piece with the earthy colours and blend of angular shapes. The outer surface is finished in a soft semi-gloss while the interior of the bowl is very much a gloss effect. The base has the Beswick England, impressed in capital letters, and the design number 2337. The piece stands 7 7/8”(201mm) tall on a base that has a diameter of 3” (76mm) and maximum body dimeter of approximately 4 ¾” (121mm). This is a pre-owned item however condition is very good indeed with no cracks, chips or damage found.
