Mid-century, cased, woman’s manicure set for the dressing table

This item is very much a charming, early to mid-century manicure set. From the light but solid wood case, to the clear-cut glass used in a number of utensil handles, it speaks of luxe for its time. The case cover is like a heavy embossed card finish and has a design leaning strongly toward the geometric. Two small closure clip fasteners in brass, as are the two rear hinges. The set appears quite comprehensive and includes: two small lidded cut glass pots; nail clippers; Scissors with a curved cutting surface; eyelash tweezers; a cut glass handled nail file; five cut glass handled cuticle pushers and trimmers for various cuticle treatments and of course the triple mirror lid. All implements are set in black velvet surrounded by ruched cloth emphasising the luxury effect of the whole unit. The case measures 265mm at the widest point, 195mm front to back and has a depth of 50mm.
