NZ Machine Gun Corps 1916 cap badge

This is an all-brass cap badge featuring the King’s Crown above crossed Maxim machine guns, which in turn sit above the NZ. The Machine Gun Corps was formed in early 1916, in response to the Gallipoli campaign which highlighted the need for more effective machine gun support. The Corps was disbanded at the end of the Great War. The badge has the three lugs used to fix the badge to the cap, but no cotter pins/split pins.
