This badge style was in use over both WW1 and WW2 – the ‘slider’ fitting is generally regarded as indicating a WW1. The badge is surmounted by a King's Crown (Tudor Crown), The body of the badge shows a 9-pounder rifled muzzle-loading field gun resting on a stylized patch of ground. An artillery rammer used to load charges is visible leaning against the left side of the gun wheel. According to AI - The badge features two distinct Latin scrolls, which serve as the regiment's official mottos:

  • "UBIQUE" (Upper Scroll): Translates directly to "Everywhere". Because the Royal Artillery has served in virtually every major campaign, this single word takes the place of traditional battle honours on their insignia and regimental colors.
